Authentidate Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: ADAT), a provider of secure web-based software applications and telehealth products and services for healthcare organizations, today announced that Pocono Medical Center of Pennsylvania selected Authentidate’s InscrybeMD® telehealth solution to extend clinical care to their patients. Pocono Health System operates the Pocono Medical Center and reported $271 million in annual revenues in 2013 fiscal year.
“This new telehealth program will provide continuity of care to the health outcomes of the non-acute patients with chronic illnesses that we serve in our community,” commented Jonathan Goldner, DO, Chief Medical Executive, Medicine and Chronic Disease at Pocono Medical Center. “The InscrybeMD telehealth solutions have proven effective at other healthcare systems with similar patient populations and circumstances. We expect to achieve similar positive results using the same tools in our own program.”
The easy-to-use InscrybeMD Electronic House Call (EHC) is a remote patient monitoring device designed for ease of use. The touch screen device delivers seamless continuity of care to specific patient segments that require regular monitoring of medical conditions while they continue with their daily routines without having to travel to see their physician. The Interactive Voice Response system delivers the same care plans for patients by providing voice-guided menus through the patient’s own phone without a dedicated device in their home. Automated reminders increase patients’ compliance with care plans, diets, medication schedules and follow-up physician visits and reduce the need for face-to-face visits. Pocono Health System clinical providers can view each patient’s session responses and vital sign results and make adjustments to care plans on the secure InscrybeMD web application, which is then communicated to the patient during scheduled sessions. While improving medical condition monitoring, the EHC also provides patients with disease management education that their clinician selects for them to view on the device. The InscrybeMD Telehealth solutions help to reduce costs, support improved patient health outcomes, and reduce hospital readmissions. InscrybeMD telehealth solutions have proven effective in assisting in the management of a number of patient illnesses, behavioral health conditions and wellness programs.
Pocono Medical Center has 235 beds. The hospital had 11,950 admissions in the latest year for which data are available. It performed 2,508 annual inpatient and 3,931 outpatient surgeries. Its emergency room had 85,024 visits. It is also accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), as reported in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2014-15: Overview and Honor Roll report.
“We look forward to supporting Pocono Health System with our InscrybeMD telehealth solutions as the clinical toolkit to achieve their goals of improved health outcomes of their patients and reducing related hospital readmissions,” said Jessica Levenberg, Sales Director at Authentidate.
